Word in forums is that this definitive edition doesn’t have LAN, a feature that the game had before Steam.
Yeah, that’s stopping me from getting it. This was the first game I played after getting my first graphics card, and I was really hoping to enjoy it without this BS.
Damn. The original was (to me) the highlight of many, many lan-parties.
I vaguely recalled DoW was a Gamespy Arcade game so did a bit of googling

Been more than a minute since I tried DoW online but other games of the era basically used Gamespy Arcade as a drop in server browser. So if they were just switching to Steam/GoG for that, it really depends on what kind of LAN support those packages have.
So… annoying but doesn’t seem unique to this release?
I have the three others, I’ll probably buy this if it’s not too hefty priced.
