    “I hope that soon we will have German soldiers permanently on the territory of Romania,” Ciolacu said, referring to a German announcement last week to permanently send 4,000 troops to Lithuania, while speaking at a joint press conference following a meeting between the two leaders in Berlin.

    Oh how history circles back on itself. I’m sure some of my much older German friends are chuckling to themselves.

    It makes sense–they are right next to Ukraine and in danger as much as somewhere like Lithuania is. NATO forces should be securing territories in the east, as they have begun to do.
