I’ve been thinking of getting that game, though I am not sure on the development pace and state it is currently in.

Generally I love city builders of any kind and the game looks super interesting to me (and it is currently on sale :D ). What are your thoughts?

I’ve sunk over a dozen hours into it so far. It’s a really enjoyable game, however it is truly in early access stage and the developer has made no illusions about that. It’s playable, and largely bug free, but there’s not a lot of depth available since many of the features are still in progress. Up to the release of the game, it’s been developed by 1 person and he’s hiring some additional staff but that all takes time to see fruition.

The graphics are beautiful, and the game has a great atmosphere. I love watching the buildings being constructed. The mechanics in the game work well, but there’s a lot of buildings, resources, and advanced stages that need tweaking/implementing.

If you like what you see in the videos, and are OK with an actual early access game, knowing that features and improvements will be coming slowly, then id suggest getting it now. Otherwise, wait for the official release.

I will think about that. My biggest concern is actually the price. Even the reduced 29.99$ is a bit steep for a not so deep early access game imo 🤔

don’t buy to game, it is still very much a demo

most people buying are just doing so to support development. I think dude got him self some staff now, so hopefully we get something half backed next year.

If you’re just trying to figure out if it’s worth it, why not use the 1 month trial/ friends pass for the Microsoft games pass? It’s on there and how I played it.

I am on linux and I think it is not working there, though even if it did, I always forget to cancel those kinda subscriptions, so it’d not really an option for me… Though great tip for others

I think it’s very fun, but a bit light in content at the moment, understandable as it is in early access.

The ground work and mechanics are clearly there already. It needs fleshing out, a lot really. But the visions is amazing, it feels like what I thought AOE2 was when I was 12

No one would spend more than 100 hours in that beautiful boring little one map early access non AAAA game. absolute no one. ☺️

(development goes to balancing and bug fixes afaik)

Have about 12 hours on it. Last played in April. I did enjoy the quarks of this with the combat built in with the city builder. The economy was interesting with the interchange of regions. My biggest gripe is the way you have to figure out the marketplace adjacent to the residents to help level up the housing.

I haven’t played with the new patch but looking forward to jump back into it.

The combat takes me bad to red alert 2 days which feels nostalgic.

It’s pretty basic at the moment. I bought it to support since I like to support indie devs. I probably won’t play until the final release though.

By the way, also check Ostriv.

Out of the medieval ones, I think Farthest Frontier is the most mature one.

If medieval part is not important, Soviet Republic is the most complex one.
