The wildfire stood at 353,194 acres as of Sunday morning, but was poised to grow as it continues to encounter forests that have not burned for decades.
These forests have been dried out by extreme heat so far this summer, with more heat on the way.

OP, please fix the title. This is about the Park wildfire in California. sfgate.com also has a bunch of info. It is bad. No fatalities reported so far, fortunately, but a crazy amount of forest has already been wiped out.

The arsonist should be jailed for life, although that wouldn’t be enough. He should spend the rest of his life planting trees.
