There’s some good points about reliance on internet but also note that there are plenty of dead old games and the ones we talk about now are those that survived.
There are modern games that will likely last.
My opinion? Hardcopy.
I still have CDs of old games. I can install and play the base version if they only require the code on the back of the jewel case. Some even allow private servers for multiplayer.
New ones? DRM, licensing servers, gameservers, download sources…as they disappear, so do the games because nobody can play them.
Just buy your games on GOG. No DRM
