I have a small annoyance in Sync for Lemmy that I hope you can help me with. Swiping up from the very bottom of the screen closes the app and I lose my place in my posts upon re-opening Sync
Swiping up to scroll the posts is great, but if I accidentally start a swipe too low, the app closes.
Is there an option in settings I missed?

You are right, I’ve experienced the same thing. I’ve tried disabling all Sync settings relating to swipe actions and even enabled the setting to open the drawer instead of exiting when hitting the Android back button.
