Marcus Eriz has been found guilty of murder in the Orange County, California, road rage incident that killed 6-year-old Aiden Leos in 2021.
Eriz was convicted of second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and two felony enhancements of the personal discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death.
“While we will never know what Aiden would have become, we know that the pursuit of justice did not end until his killer was captured and this child murderer was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement after the verdict.
Eriz will be sentenced on April 12. The 26-year-old faces 40 years to life in prison.

I live in this county and was driving to work the day this happened. Traffic was a stopped on a offramp onto another freeway, was first time I ever saw this on this freeway to freeway offramp.

I really dislike Elon and the entire company, but having a 5 year old son makes you prioritize safety. As of now, it’s the only vehicle that is bullet resistant.

Since I’m already buying a new vehicle, given the state of American gun violence, why not pick up a vehicle that is slightly more bulletproof than any other vehicle? I’m paying the same amount for another vehicle that is not bulletproof. “Bulletproof” is like the airbag. I have never gotten into an accident where the airbag deployed. But I sure glad its there when I need it. Just another safety feature.

Yeahhhh… But to believe that this is a factory-produced model versus one that has been “polished” up for presentation is like looking at the fake cheeseburgers in McDonald’s ads and claiming that’s what the real thing looks like. Going aftermarket means aftermarket weight which is not built with this weight in mind. Plus aftermarket isn’t cheap. At that cost, why would I go through the trouble?

Even putting aside the number of places that will convert most cars bulletproof, or that other automakers offer bullet proof cars directly including EVs (ie BMW), the fact that Tesla’s response to the window breaking was they had did their demonstration in the wrong order, makes believing they are the only ones who can help you to be incredibly misinformed position if not trolling as it is such a clown takeaway for anyone actually shopping for armored vehicles or vehicles in that price range.
