Many people have died directly (bullets/bombs), but it’s nothing compared to what will come from the secondary effects of no food, shelter, healthcare, stress, poverty, etc.

Sometimes I’m wondering what would happen to the Israeli society if it recreates the images of mass starvation from the WWII concentration camps in Gaza along with the numbers of dead to substantiate it. I’m certain parts of it wouldn’t bat an eye but others might snap. I wonder whether their society would be able to stay whole under such circumstances.

They seem to be doing a good of suppressing the leftists in Israel so far. Everyone was making it sound like Bibi was almost about to be dragged out people had had enough of his shit before this, yet now there’s barely a peep.

Honestly though why would they care? From their point of view and they’ve been attacked ever since they arrived. I imagine that they would breathe a sign of relief if they woke up tomorrow and there were no Palestinians left.

Humans are pretty good at dehumanizing their enemies to cope with conflict.

Agreeing with all that, I have a feeling something might gonna snap if they end up killing a few tens of thousands or more via famine. I don’t think the current dehumanization program would be able to cope with that. Currently it emphasizes Hamas, human shields and all that. I don’t think you can square tens of thousands dead from hunger with that narrative.

They track the amount of food entering so they’ll just say oh well there was enough food let in but Hamas made sure it didn’t get to the people who needed it.

That truth will be buried. Israel will go full-scream about the Hamas attack long after the last Palestinian has starved to death. America won’t intervene - after all look what they did to the Native Americans.
