Corporal punishment remains legal, especially in the South. It still has its defenders. But the costs can be steep.

      My understanding from a school administrator that uses it in their school is the parent has to sign off on it. I don’t agree with it in the least and believe corporal punishment has very limited if any evidence of being good at modifying behavior. Psychology has come a long way since all we knew was to beat the crap out of kids when they step out of line.
