      She’s also a major figure in Russian domestic propaganda, so while I don’t know the context in which her statement was made, it may not be aimed at an external audience.

      Also, especially if the statement was originally in Russian, it may not have had the same connotation as in English. “Crawling out of the cracks” may have a negative connotation in English, but it might not in Russian.
