Summary

The State Department has ended a major USAID initiative to restore Ukraine’s energy grid, which has suffered continuous Russian attacks.

The move, seen as a signal of declining U.S. support, also includes downsizing USAID’s presence in Ukraine from 64 to just 8 personnel.

Officials warn this could leave Ukraine vulnerable, especially during winter, and reduce oversight of financial aid.

Additionally, a financial sector reform program has been terminated. The decision is part of the broader Trump administration policies shifting away from strong U.S. involvement in Ukraine.

Who is people? I feel like that word is doing a lot of work while in reality, noone cares. At least not anyone that van make a difference.

Yeah, you and I are outraged about it but do you think trump cares? So far there have been hundreds of protesters, sometimes even thousands, whoooohhh, cheeto must be shaking on his fat ass. Quite a few of them were angry cat ladies doing weird dances, and I remember seeing a woman having difficulty trying to say “fuck trump” in public… Yeah, these people surely will make a difference now!

Wake me up when a million protesters in each and every of the major cities in the entire country paralyze the country for a week or so. Wake me up when Democrats organize something that will completely gridlock the US government until Cheeto steps down or something

Until then, I just don’t want to hear about “people are really getting angry now!!” No they’re not. They don’t care, politicians don’t care, Democrats don’t care.

You’re missing the point that none of “some people made sad face” is going to change anything and I am just flabbergasted that nobody is doing something that will actually enact change. Singing won’t change shit, writing on Lemmy won’t change shit and in case you ask me what I’m doing, I’m not an American, thankfully.

Americans have to fix this, but before anything, they have to want to change something and from the looks of it, not more than a fraction of a percent want change, and that fraction is for a good part crazies that go singing and dancing, thinking they can enact change that way.

        So no, nothing will change

Sorry, but that is the reality we live in now

          I agree with you fully.

But I had literally just been arguing about how this actually matters with other people on lemmy. Some people absolutely will not agree on saving Ukrainian lives, so when I saw it on another post I expressed how it was just nice to see someone else write about it.

You had to come in immediately and shit on it for whatever reason.

I never said you were wrong. I just called you an ass
