Why not just make a good enough laptop for a cheap price ?
You can have a good laptop or a cheap one, not both.
This is my Linux Mint Cinnamon dressed up as Windows XP. How much more Windowsy would you like it ;-)
I run Linux Mint Cinnamon, latest version, on a GPD Pocket 2 with absolutely no issues. The touch screen, although it is a small one, works perfectly.
It should have fallen on her manager to handle, and she should have put her foot down on that.
Head of HR is Linus’ wife. Yes, it is that bad. Even telling her manager, would have netted zero result.
and offers a true desktop experience in a handheld.
Awkwardly telling us it’s an unsuited Windows 11 installation on a handheld. Would not want it on my desktop, let alone on my unwieldy handheld.
Tip? It is just a means to an end.
My main OS since Linux Mint 17.3, and still very happy with it. Switched from MacOS after a 10 year Apple stint and haven’t regretted it for even a second. My hardware needs were much cheaper if anything.
And the kicker: the config files show 99% were extracted from Debian Linux. Own Chinese distro, my ass.
and actually seems faster than the stock SSD
Larger SSD’s tend to be faster than their smaller counterparts. Has to do with a more efficient data controller or something.
Bought the 64GB version, ordered a certified to work with the Steam Deck M.2 512GB SSD and had absolutely no problem installing the thing. Plenty of HowTo’s on YouTube. Also re-installing SteamOS is easy. If I ever were to expand to 1TB or 2TB I would use CloneZilla to clone the contents instead of clean installing SteamOS again. My network traffic is not metered but it takes for ever to redownload the games.

You did that too? Feels like being caught 😊 Also indicates you experienced the dark ages before the smartphone.
Similar things happened when Twitter screwed the pooch and you’d mention Mastodon to people.
Depends on your usage. I used it many times to get support for various services I paid for and didn’t get help using the regular channels. A public tweet to the company’s Twitter handle about an issue did wonders. Besides that I used it to follow like minded people in the same hobbies as me. I did nuke my account when Space Karen took over.
