Then there’s me, in my 30s, some professional dev experience like 10 years ago that ruined me for years, looking to get back into the industry because everything else I’ve tried makes me feel hollow

I used to laugh at him yeah but he’s managed to fuck up his kids with weird right wing capitalist stuff so it’s less funny now
According to my brother, the real issue is that there is too much regulation and it is stifling the ability of ethical companies to break into industries 🙄
We’re midway through passing the blame torch. Soon they’ll drop the millennial part and it’ll just be “gen Z is killing an expensive or shitty industry how could they!”
Sounds like it is not going to go better :/ I hope they can keep up the fight
Hopefully it goes better than when Unity internally resisted against military contracts. Their response to us was to restrict how we could communicate, stall until we lost steam, fire select people for code of conduct, and freeze any internal discourse that got too anti military but let the pro military ones run wild
Remember that one time in Batman where they built a mass surveillance program using phones and decided it was so morally objectionable they immediately destroyed it after?
My brother called me a fear monger when I openly called Trump a fascist the first time around. Look who’s getting the last laugh now :/
Wait if it stands for Ronald’s Universal Number Kounter, does that mean both the creator and current maintainer are named Ronald? Is it a dread pirate kinda deal where whoever holds the hat takes the name?
It’s very amicable but we’re also moving a fair distance away from each other. One of them also hates the carrier and screams like a dying banshee, pees all over himself, it’s ugly
Not sure why you’re getting down votes because this is the way. If you want something, be open and ask for consent. Just be okay with people saying no, too, and you’re good
Almost my entire social circle including myself has gotten COVID in the last two months, independently from each other. It’s seriously going around right now in my area. I still mask everywhere, work from home, and have a hand sanitizer station in my entry way. I still managed to catch it recently
I just had to split the cats in my divorce. Mine has been yowling in empty rooms and he’s clearly showing signs of depression (not eating as much, sleeping more, etc). My ex’s has apparently been searching the new house for days and gets sad when he can’t find me or my cat. They definitely have a sense of loss and vary in how they cope with it
Morrowind, Factorio, Terraria
Yeah the only Starbucks in my area I’ll go into is the reserve but that’s because it’s just really cool in there. If I want a busy environment that feels like a steampunk world then it’s the place to be. Coffee there still sucks tho and even with the cool location I’m still only in there maybe a couple times a year
Fuck I’ve been in Seattle too long I can’t even remember the last time I saw a shooting star, barely even see normal stars
This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen
And if it’s a front the food might still be awesome because it’s some rando doing their home cooking to cosplay as a restaurant worker
I’m on appeal #3 right now with my insurance for something they told me would be 100% covered. I’m getting my doctor in on it to do a peer to peer. He sounded so fed up with everything he was like “it’s probably some retired pediatrician who doesn’t know anything about what you need” when talking about who he’d need to talk with. If this one doesn’t work then I’m on to the “threaten to sue” stage which I’m not excited about. The whole thing is a mess and the process and money that’s gone into it would have easily bankrupted or put me homeless at most previous times in my life
