This is the most promising research for diabetes I’ve read in a while.

Honestly this might be a case where his laziness saved his life. If he’d been strapped in properly depending on where that strap goes he could’ve taken a nasty ride. And that would have been priceless to watch.
My personal one is “Dumb fuck in a truck.”
Omg yes! I perform drug testing and I’ve had instances where nurses called CPS before we could give them a confirmation result causing mayhem for all involved. It makes me want to scream whenever I see screening tests used as evidence against people. Any hospital or government agency making those kinds of decisions based on a screen should be sued to high hell. Also fun fact really high levels of Benadryl will cause you to pop positive for PCP on most drug screens. I’ve had to talk a handful of pediatricians down about that over the years too.
This is extremely troubling news. It is really important to find out exactly what the compromise was here. Was the legit clinic using an unsecure platform or do they have a bad actor among them. I did find it interesting that the third party software companies weren’t commenting on the case. It would be absolute mayhem in the healthcare industry if it turns out that the software was easily compromised by bad actors. I understand that a lot of smaller companies “get what they pay for” however HIPAA isn’t something to fuck around with. And I would definitely like to see some criminal charges for the crisis center’s theft of data and patients here. Those snake oil salesmen are a plague on real healthcare.
"Only thing stopping them from sending hired thugs to your house to shake the change out your pockets is the law. "
This is how I feel about ads. Ads are legal psychological warfare with the sole aim of stealing your money.
I recently bought the Cat Quest trilogy. I played the first two on my switch but the third one just came out and Steam did the whole bundle at a discount so I snagged it. Been enjoying replaying the first two before I start on the new one.
I am severely allergic to eggs so no annual flu shot for me but I have gotten multiple COVID shots without issue. I am a bit worried about a combo flu-covid shit in the future and will talk with my doctor about my options. I will say that it is possible to work with a physician or allergist and take half-shots of some vaccines. This is where you take half the shot in two spaced out doses to eventually get full coverage. I will admit that it didn’t work for me with the flu vaccine but it was definitely worth a try and the reaction I had wasn’t as bad as a full dose.
That’s weird. The link should be to the Wikipedia entry but thanks for making a steam link too!
Maize, a point and click/walking simulator/puzzle game about a secret military project to create sentient corn. Quite possibly the silliest game I’ve ever played.
WTF!? How is the state health board not jumping into a complete investigation of this hospital at this point and/or shutting this place down? I have so many questions. The first of many is how did they “store” this body so that it decomposed to the point of being unrecognizable? This whole thing reads like they let her die from malpractice and then threw the body in a closet to hide the evidence.
Honestly I blame tv for giving people the wrong idea when it comes to seizures. Everyone has this image of a person failing widely and dangerously but that really isn’t how most seizures play out. I can understand not recognizing one if you’ve never seen it before but once you’ve seen one there’s no excuse. The medics on this scene should have known what was happening, no excuse there. They should have their certifications revoked.
This past spring I found out that the squirrels planted someone else’s crocuses in my yard. I don’t mind letting nature do the work for me.
That was amazing!
My personal fall back to get others to open up in any type of conversation is to start talking about food. Comfort food, junk food, family recipes/traditions; it’s all good because people can’t help but share when it comes to food. I’ve learned so much about different cultures and some damn good recipes just talking about food with everyone.
You remember that episode of the Boondocks where Huey watches junk TV and becomes so exhausted and apathetic that he can no longer think for himself by the end of the episode? That’s why I refuse to even attempt to listen to Trump. Honestly I think that’s how people get suckered in by Trump; he wears down the mind so much that it becomes too much trouble to think.
Cult of the Lamb and No Man’s Sky.
I opened this post thinking the woman in question was some high level C suite worker. Nope she was supposedly working in fast food. This is beyond dystopian. You mean to tell me this fucker walked in a fast food place saw a toddler and an infant behind the counter, recognized that the mom must have just given birth and thought “Yup this is inspiring.” I’m honestly speechless. This might be one of the few instances I’ve ever seen where everyone responding is on the same page with their reaction and rage.
That didn’t happen.
And if it did, it wasn’t that bad.
And if it was, that’s not a big deal.
And if it is, that’s not my fault.
And if it was, I didn’t mean it. (Republicans are here)
And if I did, you deserved it. (Those of us screaming about this shit as loud as we can are trying to prevent this from happening)
We should have a law that keeps religious organizations from receiving Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements. That would stop this shit real quick.
