In the past messaging on this has been so poor on this topic. To the point where people don’t even really understand how common a medical abortion is, or that they’re now essentially illegal, risk factors from being denied care due to these laws, etc. They’ve let the gop take the baby killer ball and run with it for years. So now we’ve got a lot of ground to make up educationally…are bare minimum. And I think once we get to that place support will be near universal.

Yeah there’s no place for a gun in a school. Even on the best days staff are all over the place. It’s a bit of organized chaos, ya know. And some schools are really small. So if someone comes in the front door your chances of getting to safer spot are slim. My last one was literally a hallway and booking it out the back door was our crisis plan (like I said, death trap).

Hey, specifically to address the hide question and no other part of the conversation: I’ve worked in a lot of schools. So, in many classrooms, it’s absolutely impossible to hide effectively. I told my last room if something real happened we just needed to take our kids and run. It was a death trap in a shooter situation. Some examples would be doors in-between rooms, doors that don’t lock, doors that do lock with glass panes, outside doors that were mostly glass. Single-exits with no locking doors and no windows so you’d be trapped. I hate having to think like this. Certain rooms are insanely vulnerable. I’ve consulted in a middle school that was like a fortress too. But all the elementary schools were pretty much the same.

I’m not very tech savvy, my Adblock sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I’ve been using Firefox with extensions incognito for YouTube or I just avoid the site these days. I really liked it for music videos, since in unwilling to pay Spotify. So far my strategy is working.

I owe more with each payment. One more year and I’ll have a salary decent enough to knock them off but it’s still…very depressing.

Science says we teach alternative behaviors and provide positive reinforcement for socially appropriate behaviors. Punishment (which isn’t just jail, it can be stuff like detention if we’re not losing our heads here) if it’s not paired with a replacement behavior is the least effective. Usually you reserve punishment for “danger to self or others” behaviors…

Now, as to where this behavior falls. Having AI generated porn of yourself all over the internet as a young girl in some of the puritan towns in the US? That could be an absolute nightmare for the victim this of course something has to occur. Perhaps punishment would be best direct towards those who should know better (parents). Here, the harm being to others…how can we replace this particular behavior? Yes, education, but there also needs to be something better for these kiddos to be doing with their time.

We stopped subscribing to anything. I get some stuff as part of my phone plan but once thats over I am not paying to have these services. I pretty much fell behind on torrent, so there will be a learning curve.

Yeah, realistically what happens here is car pulls up to person with walkie, shows ID, kid gets sent down for pickup. Or person maybe has to go into the office for sign out depending on staffing. Idk what everyone else is on about but clearly they’ve never worked in school, lol. Staff just want to go home and can’t do that until kids are safely dismissed.

I really liked that little crab island shooter. Cute and inexpensive. Not a huge or blockbuster game but pretty fun for me. I need a new FPS after OW2 ruined OW1.
