“Keep an eye out” seems less helpful than “go to this guy’s house and take all his guns until he clears a psych evaluation,” but what would I know?

I’m sure the supreme court will approach this without bias
That actually makes a lot of sense, especially combined with the other answers of how some sanctions are trickier implement. Thank you!
It seems like there’s always another sanction package, why didn’t they slap them all on there in the beginning of this whole thing? What’s the benefit of holding some back and letting their economy limp along for a bit?
If you or a loved one was diagnosed with Mesothelioma getting tortured by the US government you may be entitled to financial compensation.
We built some gas turbines for them at Siemens and trained a few of their people for a new factory we had to build in Riyadh as part of the turbine deal. The individual people we were training were nice enough but it felt like morals just went out the window when the Saudi money showed up.
Same! Haven’t stayed up late reading like that in ages, if ever.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the real estate crisis. Shitty situation all around, but I sure hope we’re not just burning buildings and fucking the environment to get out of bad business deals.
Oh no, did covid get them?
MacKenzie Scott is the sole exception
I have been obsessed with The Matrix for multiple decades now and never knew that Neil Gaiman wrote a graphic novel about a guy pulled out of the Matrix to kill aliens. $50 hardcover collection on the way, thank you for sending me to see how far the rabbit hole goes!!
Funny how “fatally shot” takes the sting out of “gunned down” or “killed”.
Cracks down on climate polluters? Right? Right?!.. Nope, fuck these activists ringing the alarm for the planet we’re actively destroying. I did NOT consent to being born into this shitstain of a society, take me back to the void.
This existence kinda blows, thanks a lot Mom and Dad
Yeah! I did a doubletake when I read that opener. It was dramatic but also, so what if the moon blew up? Then the implications are laid out and the whole story starts moving pretty quick. Now I have to do a reread!
If my years in a technical field have taught me anything, it’s that this half-cooked shit sandwich was made by people in sales and management who were all promoted for making the shareholders happy. It’s always up to the engineers to slap some shit together that they just learned about yesterday and was needed last week.
