I personally like rust, so I get excited when cool things are done with it because each one makes rust just that much bigger, which leads to it being made that much better.
I see projects like that as more of a statement that “rust can do it” than anything.
I like how the moment-to-moment is still strategic and tense, but its not as brutal as something like tarkov. (By default when you die, you keep what you went in with)

Generally I’m a boomer shooter kinda guy, but I have recently been into more “chill in the world and ‘work’ on stuff” games like Satisfactory, Stardew Valley, Slime Rancher, Minecraft, etc
But like you I also occasionally pick up a shorter, story driven game. Fire watch is one of the best games I have ever played.
