Not too terribly long ago, clothing was super expensive. Like, make a dress from burlap or old feed sacks instead of buying something expensive. Some companies that sold feed and seed would print floral patterns on the sacks because they knew customers would turn the old sacks into clothing for their children.

I’ve never thought about VR for fitness. I have a VR that I never use. Any suggestions on an app that isn’t expensive? I’m fat and trying to be not fat. Lol

When you say export, is there a tool for that for, like, mass exporting your subs? Or do I have to manually search each one and sub again?

I ask because I’ve been meaning to switch to my alt, but I made a point of subbing to as many communities as possible to make Lemmy more fun to use for me, and good lord, it’s a lot to do.

Good use for it! My best friend is a former Baptist preacher who still occasionally preaches at different churches, and he likes to use it whenever that comes up.

10 years ago me and my mom worked jobs from home. I did CenturyLink (phone company) and HSN and QVC. She did dish network, directv and Eddie Bauer. It was easier then to find wfh jobs than it is now. Then it was unusual, but no stigma. Now it’s like you’re an evil clown bent on molesting the village’s sheep if you even suggest it. -_-

I’m not a power user or anything, and don’t understand most of the things in computing. I’m a basic user with mostly basic needs. But the only thing that ever gets me back on windows is when my college requires a program specific to a class. Linux is just freaking better, even at the very basic, mostly doing browser based shit level.

Yes. But smaller, and with a screen where the keyboard should be, and no bezel between the screens. Media consumption device, not something for any real productivity. Very lightweight, good for watching youtube or hulu, but clamshell so it protects the screen.

Same! I had the LG v60 dual screen case, and loved it. Thats the farthest I’m willing to go, though. It was unwieldy, and almost impossible to use a popsocket with, no way to use a wallet case, et cetera. It’s not worth that price tag for less options just for the occasional use of a bigger screen.

Now, foldable tablet? That’s something I’d be down for (in theory. I am poor.). Closes up small enough for a pocket, folds out when you use it. Only screen on one side, so it can tossed in a bag without worrying about it, because it’s closed up and the screen is protected.

As a confused American, why does 187ml size exist? My confusion is not with the metric system, I’m fluentish. But… Why so small? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bottle of wine smaller than 500ml, and even that is pretty teeny. That’s the size of a water bottle. Am I just not shopping at the right liquor stores, or is this a British thing to do shots of wine?

It does make me wonder where they swiss government will acquire their coke. With weed, it’s fairly easy to grow it wherever you need to, but with coke, you pretty much have to be in certain regions, yeah?

If that’s the case, is this still going to be supporting those same cartels? If more countries legalized, we could maybe hope to see legally grown, harvested, and processed coke without all the slave labor and shit. Could be a real boon for South American countries, too, if the cartels lost power, and the cocoa plantations could be nationalized.
