Have you ever tried just using Markdown?
When I started studying IT at a Berufskolleg (German word, literal transaltion would be something like job college or job school), we started learning about databases by using Access. We were all so happy when we were done with that and just used SQL. I fucking hate Access.
I feel you on that first part, I always use Markdown nowadays when I don’t have to use Word (or LibreOffice Writer in my case), I even use Marp to make presentations with Markdown. Since there’s no dragging stuff around and eyeballing if it’s actually coherent, it’s much quicker, the layout is always perfect and changing the layout doesn’t fuck up the entire slide/document.
I like how there seems to be more and more alternatives to MS Office, even from big companies like Google. Best case scenario, this could lead to companies actually starting to use an open format, like ODF, so that all these different office applications can be used without causing issues in the file and that would pave the way for open source alternatives, like LibreOffice or OnlyOffice, to become viable alternatives for a lot more people and companies. Do Google Docs and Proton Drive use/support ODF? I’m pretty sure MS Office supports it.
It’s not like you can stop people from creating the same community again. Just join the one with the most active users. It’s also not like this isn’t happening on Reddit too, the subreddits there just have slightly different names instead of the same one on a different instance.
What’s different about Fennec on F-Droid? That’s what I use.
1337 is fine for most stuff, I think. Private trackers start to make sense when you want to automate downloading shows and movies but if you just wanna pirate some game, you’ll probably find it on 1337 with a ton of seeders anyways.
You know what they say, something is better than nothing
I’m Gen Z and I still know all this stuff because that’s just what I’m interested in. I don’t think it’s a huge issue that those things were made simpler for the average person and that they don’t know how it works. It’s not like you can or need to know everything.
It’s not that you’re missing a font but rather that your font is missing those symbols. They’re not just regular letters. Here’s what it should look like:
I think there is an unofficial wireless addon but it’s very expensive. I don’t mind the cable anyway tho.
For some reason, on Linux, the GPU performance mode isn’t set to high automatically. You can use CoreCTRL to manually set it to high. That eliminated those issues for me.
Valve Index
That’s what I meant with at the beginning. As soon as I started making more profit than losses, it became very easy, which also made it kind of boring.
Yeah, I have a Valve Index, which is officialy supported on Linux, so I don’t have any issues in that regard. I think the only headsets that work well on Linux are the two with official support (HTC Vive and Valve Index) and the Quest headsets because of ALVR.
I just play VR on Linux, don’t really have many problems with it. Only small ones like sometimes SteamVR doesn’t recognize my headset the first time I start it so I need to restart it once.
It depends, since flatpaks are sandboxed, they don’t have access to anything by default. The developer can set defaults for what their app is allowed to access and the user can also manually change that. There’s also portals, so you can give them access for a file once (e.g. when opening in a file in an app) or allow them to see your screen and so on. There’s still a lot of things that don’t have portals tho, so flatpaks don’t have access to that.
The democrats are also a right-wing party, just less so than the republicans
I use Grocy for the shopping list feature. It has a lot more functionality tho.
