I’m not seeing it in Sync for Lemmy either
This is what the Bronze rank is for. Join us.
What BPM is 4’33" though? lol
“Let them eat Corn Flakes” appears to be Kellogg’s CEO Gary Pilnick’s advice to cash-strapped shoppers who are spending the highest portion of their income on food than at any point in the last 30 years.
In an interview with CNBC last week, WK Kellogg CEO Pilnick said the company was advertising cereal for dinner to consumers looking for more affordable options. “Give chicken the night off,” the ad’s cheery tagline reads.
“The cereal category has always been quite affordable, and it tends to be a great destination when consumers are under pressure,” Pilnick said. “If you think about the cost of cereal for a family versus what they might otherwise do, that’s going to be much more affordable.”
That same guy, further known as “Asshat”, made more than $4M in 2023. What a fuckin asshole.
I wonder what his advice would be on other topics.
“Man, I wish I could buy a house so that I have a stable living condition and a roof over my head.”
Asshat: “A cardboard box on the street seems to be trendy way to be thrifty and obtain all you’re asking for! I sell them, give me money!”
Next time he complains about something, we should give him similar advice.
Asshat: “Man, I wish I could own a yacht like the other rich guys in my golf club.”
Us: “This rowboat seems to be trendy way to be thrifty and obtain all you’re asking for! I sell them, give me money!”
I used Redact. It seemed to work.
I never gave you a directive, just pointed out that there is no need for the snarky sarcasm.
I agree with you that those with disabilities and those in isolated areas rely on it, but you didn’t reply to the post - you replied to that comment. I’m not being ableist, but pointing out that you replied to a person who was just stating that they themselves can live without it. The person you replied to wasn’t being ableist either.
Jesus, they were just saying that they themselves don’t miss it, not that no one should ever use it, no need for all the snarky sarcasm.
Or what if they’re black? I’ve read so many stories about sensors not detecting people simply because they have darker skin.
I’m sure there’s some sort of logical fallacy to be said about negating the quality of a quote based on the person who said it. Like, if Einstein said it, then it must be smart. If Hitler said it, then it must be evil. Etc.
I remember seeing posts made on Lemmy and Reddit during the great migration where people reported this. Found this post discussing it on Reddit though it seems to be about comment/post history being saved by third parties: https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/14av2z3/reports_of_reddit_restoring_deleted_commentsposts/
Here are some comments about this occurring: https://programming.dev/comment/6051878
No one asked me to name non-US corporations that sell your personal data, but…it’s not hard to find? TikTok, Wyze, and Samsung immediately come to mind. Idk which EU legislation you’re referring to, but if they only refer to US corporations as examples, then they either have other motives for solely focusing on US (besides Zalando), or they are blind to the rest of the customer data market.
US data collection is pretty terrible, but let’s not ignore everyone else that contributes to the problem.
Fuck data brokers.
“American corpos”? Are you implying that it’s okay to share your data with non-American corporations, or government entities?
Liked “The color is one part, the other is that it breaks functions in iMessage. So the elitism doubles up”
I’ve been going more often lately. I do hate having to catch up on 600 pages that’s been discussed over the past 8 years though.
