Same here! I feel like we should get paid for giving Google this fantastic idea.

It’s sooo clickbaity - I didn’t even click because I knew how boring the actual story would be.
I hate headlines like this. There is no “chaos”. A bunch of politicians are arguing and having meetings. Bureaucracy chunters along as usual. Paralympics are happening.
If the politicians were having shootouts in the Champs Elysées and disrupting traffic then yes, a bit of chaos in Paris. But they’re not. Sigh.
Hey, leave us boomers out of it! I love being able to pay with my phone. No more carting around a handbag, stick my phone in my pocket and I’m good to go. I can buy stuff, read a book, chat with friends, listen to music and podcasts… brilliant.
There’s no headphone jack… but I just Bluetooth audio to my hearing aids, so it’s not a problem.
My phone has two SIM slots (Oppo Find X3).
UK as well, fascists have been spouting bullshit here for decades.
Old lady here - I was the first woman in my role in a couple of jobs back in the 80s and was accused of being a token plenty of times. Had to slog my way uphill through a mountain of sexist shit every single day while seeing men cruise along because they played golf with someone high up.
Never mind computers (my first one, in I think 1985, had two floppy drives and an amber screen, very fancy), it’s phones that blow my mind. I grew up with a heavy black bakelite dial phone that lived on a special bench in the hall, and now I do video calls with my family on the other side of the world from wherever I happen to be. Toll calls used to be a huge deal, you had to call the operator, we didn’t even have direct dialling. I watch TV on my phone, not even Star Trek had that!
I feel like I must be the only person in the world still still using Piratebay! I switch between that and Kickass Torrents and have done for years. They’ve been through a variety of guises but seem to have settled down now. I use Tixati to leech and seed, never used a VPN and never had any trouble from my ISPs. It’s been interesting reading the comments though, might look at some of the suggestions.
At least they still exist somewhere, albeit hidden. In the early days of television, the BBC routinely taped over episodes, even of really popular shows, because the tapes were expensive.

Every now and then a box of old VHS recordings turns up in someone’s shed or attic, and can be added back in to the archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-67218634
