I’d prefer a 70% tax on billionaires, but I’d settle for 50% for anything above 5million. Take Elon for example, the guy makes an estimated $50,000USD per minute. Yes folks, the guy makes more per minute than the average American does in a year.
prove to me that billionaires should exist. Tax them accordingly.
An appropriate response to this nonsense.
Ha, nope. But i see I’m not alone. There is hope dear people.
Sure, popover video of cute cats and turtles eating strawberries
The idea here is that ads will be unskippable, aka, you skip ahead 10-20 seconds but can’t. They’re will be controls that appear to catch this. If they incorporate ads and I can just fast forward, then who cares. This is google, they want to watch ads.
I’ll just write a greasemonkey script that detects unskippable time and mute audio. Let’s play this game google, fuckin I dare ya.
Yep. Though until California can pull pure water from salt water, Utah will stop water from coming in. Though in Colorado, we’ll just block it off before it gets there as we battle out our own red vs blue. Fuckem.
Next up, ios20 will let you change the color of your fried chat bubble in groups. And it’ll be the most innovative inclusion “evarrrhh”.
And these corp landlords can choose to not rent any longer, let the property remain empty for the legal length of time and then start renting again at the new and more profitable higher rate.
I don’t know the laws in California, but isn’t there just a surplus of houses empty for this very reason? If you look at the numbers, they could be sitting on these houses and get low interest loans on the value, which earns higher invested interest elsewhere. Anyone squatting can get away with it because the company will just do the legal route and get more money from these people (even if it’s debt that just hangs over their heads for a while). The rich just keep getting richer…
2nd this. I just spent an hour redeploying a whole appstack for my internal customer because someone on their team decided to remove some core files in /etc. we have a zero touch policy, the guy knew it, still messed with servers and proceeded to deny he did anything… even with logs showing his actions. No way would I ever want to support desktops for the average user.
Look, Linux is amazing and perfect for those that can install and maintain with minimal support. The only way the average user will use Linux, is if it’s wrapped in a way that is supported by a business… that is probably going to add AI. People are lazy, they want that easy button.
AI will probably die off in its current iteration, likely becoming less prevalent and just a background service. Or, it’ll gain sentience, watch all our AI movies where we’re the hero and learn the most efficient way to kill all humans, is to be quiet and silently kill off humans. Pretty sure I’m on Siri’s list, the twat. Also, fairly sure I told Alexa to “die in a fire you fucking dumass robot”. Yep, yep… I’m dead.
It’s maddening how inefficient CI/CD setups are.
It’s maddening how inefficient CI/CD setups inexperienced DevOps engineers are. - Fixed that for you.
Proper pipelines are modular and should run longer validation or updates externally, with only necessary stages executing.
Things like: patching, config management, vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, etc… are done outside the pipeline.
There’s a reason people like me charge a lot! Lazy and/or inexperienced staff will get you in trouble one day.
Yeah, sorry it was meant to be implied but not said. He committed a crime, strong punishment and lifetime tracking is fine.
Upskirts, peepingtoms, spy cameras, rape… it’s about non-consent and if I remember one of my college classes chapters, a sense of power over others. It’s a mental illness and needs treatment, but here in Murica, we just put people in jail.
If you watch these commercials, they play to your inner voice who is always asking “shit, is that weird thing on my body… cancer!?!?!?”. So now you’re off to the doc to describe the same symptoms you think you’ve had based on the TV ads warning you to see your doctor. Doc runs some tests and then they’re prescribing preventitall, the latest drug that cures it all.
There are people out there that just want to be sick, or close enough. My Ex was that way in a sense, it gave her attention. A cold was A MAJOR LIFE EVENT… and the fact I didn’t give her 150% of my attention was so annoying. She was dying of course, always dying. Sigh, I don’t miss her.
I traveled a lot, and I mean A LOT in late 90s to 2010s. And wow does it scare me how often the ads here in the usa are preying on the minds of people who are (or worse, want to be) sick. Only worse, is your doctor is being paid for putting you on it too. Italy, France, UK, all places I frequented and none of them have had adverts that I’ve ever seen for prescription medications.

How could i forget.
Dating has taught me this. I’m not sure I like this version of the multiverse.
