Any distribution with Docker/Podman (they’re compatible with each other) should work fine. Don’t forget to back up the data, though. But if you’re searching for a minimal distro, then use Alpine, Gentoo, or any other non-systemd distro.

No, it’s NixOS. Every package is self-contained in its own directory, which acts as chroot.
