Yeah, when I only skimmed over the title I was thinking, whoa, are we doing this on Lemmy? Okay, nice!

And fortunately they made the law future proof. It doesn’t say that “hey, you should use USB-C” but it says “hey, you should use the connector mentioned in Appendix H which is defined by committee R”. That way they don’t need to start over the whole bureaucratic process the pass the law, just ask a committee to reevaluate the tech and they change the appendix. It can be USB-D from tomorrow.
Shows for me too.
I dunno. I use it since I can and (at least for me) it’s awesome. Finally fresh posts from little communities besides the big ones, far more diversity. I love it.
Figma sounds a LOT like “fityma” in my language, which means foreskin.
I’m really surprised.
That’s what I did what you suggested in your Edit.
I was looking for the option since Sync was supposedly updated to handle v0.19 and a handful of instances were already on that for weeks now. Never found the option. I just hoped a fix will come until my main instance is upgraded.
But anyway, the main thing I can use it with this workaround.
Not FOSS, but Feedly. I use it for years now. I can highly recommend it.
How about the case where I explicitly want them to store my location data? I mean I really use and like that feature.

It was so on point in a lot of things, it wasn’t satire, it was basically a documentary. I love that movie. And also hate it. For the same reasons as you do.
Greetings from Hungary, where I’m sure you know we are in a similar situation where you were. I hope I’ll have this feeling some day that you guys are experiencing there right now. I very rarely cry but I think that day I defenitely will. Congratulations! You (and we all) needed this!
Millenials are actually somewhat the exception because we actually needed to use computers. Generally speaking it got worse because every fucking thing is abstracted away from consumers.

They switched because their Androids were slow, buggy and had issues.
Yeah. If they would have spent the same amount of money on a high-end Android phone, those issues would have gone away. People are always comparing cheap low and mid-level shits to iPhones. Which is not very fair. Try an S23 Ultra or a Pixel 8 Pro and tell me it’s slower than an iPhone.
You usually know a company is slowly going to shit when they start to be serious and stop doing fun in their products and ads. Then you know lawyers and shareholders and people who think you can only do business with a straight face started to take over the company. Which is just sad.
Except drugs, of course.
I really don’t know why that happens to you, seems odd. Maybe worth a Github issue alongside a couple of logs from your server.
