I’ve been using Backblaze since 2017 when CrashPlan shut down. Have not run into a catch yet, except of course the possibility of it going the way of CrashPlan one day.
I wish to live in a society in which this question is a moot point. Creators should have the freedom to create without having to worry about the goodwill of their audience, or worse, marketing strategies. Fans should have the freedom to access art without having to worry about the well-being of the creator, or worse, suffering guilt. Anything that is not aimed at creating and maintaining this state of being is inhumane.
I applaud your success! I’m curious though: what is it about C# that made it inaccessible compared to Java? The two are extremely similar, so much so that I think you’d have to learn for more than a year before you start noticing any differences.
Because without it, the DOJ would have no control over you, duh
I assume that banning all robocalls requires new legislation, whereas the regulation mentioned here didn’t.
That is a great analogy. We always assume gravity is the same for everyone, but when you’re as tiny as an aerosol droplet, air currents are a lot more relevant.
Not sure how they’re talking to one another if Lal is in the turbolift while Data is in Ten Forward
As a fan of the LucasArts point-and-click adventure games of the 80s-90s, it would be remiss of me not to mention that Day of the Tentacle, the sequel to Maniac Mansion (their first adventure game ever), actually contains Maniac Mansion as a minigame.
If you accept modules in Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes as “minigames” then I could name several hundreds that I enjoyed when I was still active in that game. Many of them are “soloable”, meaning, do not require another player with a manual. Several fans of the game, myself included, would sometimes load up a bomb containing only soloable modules and just play on their own.
she wants to be seen as a person, not for her disability
… Entire article is about her disability
This obviously assumes that you know exactly what metadata you want to eliminate and how to view it.
The OP’s whole point of asking is that they don’t know the former.
YouTube should just be government-run. No ads. Content creators can make money from sponsorships and Patreon. Which, incidentally, should also be government-run. And Twitter. These modern technologies should simply be public goods.
I’ve not heard of a show called “Star Trek New Generation”. Are you thinking of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”?
Are you sure you’re a fan?
Sometimes it’s the operator in the projection booth doing the recording, not a visitor in the theater.
Have you tried Star Trek Prodigy? It definitely has much less of the woke angle you describe compared to Discovery and Picard.
Edit to clarify: I have no issue with diversity and representation, obviously. In fact, I’m more annoyed by the right’s misappropriation of the word “woke” than I am with shows that are hamfisted about it. Nor do I think that Prodigy is any less Star Trek. I just like the writing more and think that its representation is well executed.
That would be easier for Reddit to just undo. It’s more effective to just not moderate at all and show Reddit what happens when anyone can post anything.
Opera is fine. However, AdBlock Plus is not. It has become infected with profit-driven decisions and now lets ads through that pay. Use uBlock Origin instead.
Oh boy, this is such an awesome story. Thank you for sticking it up to the abusive manager and entertaining us with the result.
Unfortunately I didn’t have the guts to do this. I used to work at a place where everything was fine until a new line manager was installed who moved me to a different desk in another building. That desk was right next to the server room, which was noisy with a constant low-pitched grumbling. I was not able to think or concentrate in that environment, so I would frequently take my laptop to another floor and do my work there. The manager was not happy about that and demanded that I should return to my assigned desk and stay there. I told him it would mean I wouldn’t be able to accomplish any work and he said something on the lines of “I don’t care”. I should have taken him up on that; I should have stopped working entirely and just browsed the web all day until he gets wind of it and finally admits that he does care. But I was too cowardly to dare. I continued to defy him by spending most of my time at the “wrong” desk though.
That is assuming that she’s not sharing the name voluntarily. It’s not a GDPR violation to offer such a service if it’s opt-in.
