True but it won’t be comparable to the console hardware. Has anyone done a cost/performance analysis of the PS5 Pro? Most of the time the cost is subsidized into the licensing fees involved in order to sell PS5 games.

Not a very good gaming PC, certainly not as good as the PS5 Pro hardware if you need everything, monitor peripherals, GPU, RAM, etc.
Free forever, until it’s not
Honestly price isn’t an issue and the reason to go PS5 over PC is the ease of use. I can’t stand having to get up to use my mouse to click start game, or games that never implemented proper console support on PC for whatever reason. It’s just so much easier to have working HDR, Dolby Atmos, etc on a PS5 than it is with Steam big picture on a PC. I’ve tried it many times and there’s always some frustration with the PC on a home theater setup.
Bethesda owns the COD franchise now?
I used to pirate back in the day and the fact that you no longer had updates or fixes was a huge issue. It’s actually the number one reason I no longer pirate games. It’s not worth my time or frustration to deal with a virus, bad crack or crashing game. Also since I stopped pirating I’ve had exactly 0 malware/trojan infections.
I don’t agree with pirating. I’ll simply not buy the game instead.
They would be stupid not to.
So you still haven’t played bg3 huh?
Welcome to Lemmy! Where the real world is a complete unknown.
Isn’t the sample size 4?
Yea same I have a couple of older controllers and never once experienced any issues with them. The same can’t be said for my damn Logitech mice that seem to fail every year.
I was always a PC gamer but now having a nice TV in the basement the console is just a more natural choice. I tried using Steam big picture among other options but it still doesn’t fit as well as a console does for me. Xbox had different tiers of consoles? Guess I didn’t research Xbox much and haven’t had one for ages.
Honestly I would be down for a $1500+ gaming console if it could perform close to a modern gaming PC. Not sure why they can’t offer levels/tiers of the console for people who have more disposable income.
I feel like social media just loves to jump on the hate bandwagon, fortunately the real world is nothing like this.
Well we don’t even know the specs yet so any technological improvements are speculation. Either way I think it would be out of place for the console manufacturers not to release a new model after several years. Anyone buying a PS5 for the first time may be put off by a 3 year old console and prefer a newer model.
Do you understand why new graphics cards make sense? Or why a new CPU makes sense?
Ah. I never played it or even looked at it. My new love right now is Disco Elysium.
It’s not that it’s hard, it’s that it’s not engaging or fun. The early/mid game is where most of the action happens and the end game is when you spend 40+ turns rolling enemy cities with your tank armies.
Innovation has peaked? Didn’t we just get AI? Is that not one of the largest innovations to occur in recent time?
