I propose to stop using “pro-life” and “pro-choice”. Instead use “pro-quantity” and “pro-quality”.

All of their thumbnails are unfortunately click-baity. They spoke about ut in an older video. Apparently, the click-baity images drive too much traffic for them to justify something more subtle.
But how do you apply this with Lorentz’ transformation (i.e. relativistic factors)? You cannot approach the speed of light without considering relativism. It is known that p = gamma * m * v
where p is momentum, gamma is the gamma factor given by sqrt(1/(1 - (v^2/c^2)))
, m is mass and v is velocity. If you study the gamma factor, you’ll realize that it approaches infinite as v approaches c, the speed of light. Since we are actually dealing with light here, where v = c
we are breaking the equation. Momentum cannot be defined for any mass which moves at the speed of light. It’s asymptotic at that speed.
Also note that the same goes for E = mc^2
. At relativistic speeds, also this equation needs to consider the gamma factor. So those classical equations break down for light.
The answer is that photons don’t have mass, but they have energy. There is a good explanation a bit further up in this thread on how this is possible.
Or:
Easy. Just share the scripts in a reasonable advance to allow actors either withdraw from the project or brace/prepare themselves for the uncomfortable scenes.
Just to be a counterweight: I have ~15 hours in BG3. At some point I just realized it’s not for me. I can’t really put my finger on it, but it just doesn’t strike any nerve for what I enjoy in video games.
Skyrim, however was my favorite game through the 2010s, with probably north of 500 hours across multiple platforms.
Maybe it’s something about the pacing and freedom to disregard the story elements.
But people under a certain age are required a child seat, no? So unless those rules are changed, it would be hard for any pregnant woman to legally sit in a moving car.
As a European, It’s crazy how I’ve started to compare USA to Russia. I mean, Russia is still the baddies by a decent margin, but god damn, that gap could be closing fast in 2025.
Don’t worry, it’s not like I’m yielding. The point is that I find them to be detractors rather than attractors to join our common goal of not eliminating ourselves.
I still subscribe to the theory that these people are hired actors from Big Oil. They are experts at being unlikable and naturally pushes me towards the opposing side. It sucks.
But the post says “horse” not “house”. You know, like the neigh-type of thing.
This old picture has the writing “Easter eggs for Hitler” on the bombs. I think the use case makes the biggest difference for whether writing a message is perceived as sinister. A bomb which is being sent to someone who has been confirmed to regularily attack civilian targets is not great.
The real answer would be “don’t”. Have a decent whitelist dor training data with reliable data. Don’t just add every orifice of the internet (like reddit) to the training data. Limitations would be good in this case.
“Have you invested in crypto?”
Do you think anyone anywhere will misunderstand this as investing in cryptographic research/development?
The mainstream usage of the word isn’t always aligned with what is good for society or even the original usage of the word.
The perception of delay is a lot larger for a single initial delay than a lot of smaller delays within the game. It’s very noticable if a game takes 20 seconds to get past the intro screens, while it is barely noticeable if a quarter of a second of delay is added to the loading between each level, even if it adds up to a lot more than the initial loading screen.
Considering that the use of 5.1 surround would be a very rare case for the target aidience, I find the choice of dropping it to be excellent to enhance the experience.
Mississippi and Bagdad
It’s 100% nostalgia, and I hard refuse to ever touch that game again. I’m sure it’s terrible compared to my standards for games now. But the memories remain, and that’s fine.
I used to love Lego Racers. I knew all the tracks and shortcuts, and I knew exactly how to make my favorite racing car. I remember playing the game at home as well as at my friends’ houses, and I always made the same car design, as I was convinced it was the fastest. What a great game!
I have never really been into anime/manga. However, I received the first book of Dragon Ball book back in the 00’s when the comic arrived in Norway as an add on to a Donald Duck magazine. And heck, I was so hooked. I read the book several times, and when the next book came out, I read that several times as well. For the next few years, every time a new book cmae out, I’d read all the books again. It was an amazing journey. I read the full series through dragon ball and dragon ball z as the only manga I ever got hooked on.
Thanks for all the amazing sleepless nights under the duvet and a flashlight. Dragon Ball holds a very special place for me.
Unfortunately, yes.
