have you looked at the color e-ink tablets? A cursory look reveals the boox air3, which might be a good fit for your use case

and mShep, and Mordin, and Liara… the ME series just had a whoooole lotta amazing voice acting.

fuck, this is way better than my current naming scheme of "customer-<devicepurpose>, I’m stealing it for my next setup.
