i feel like i’m not actually against ads. i’m against the abuse of ads, that take away from the user experience…
i won’t mind seeing an ad if it doesnt get in the way of what i need to do on the pc. i don’t need an ad popping up when im trying to work on something, launch an application, download a file, etc. an ad in the corner, big enough for me to be aware of it, but obscure enough to not interrupt me will serve its purpose.
problem is, ad exposure is non-regulated and i can’t believe how the constant ad spamming doesn’t seem to phase a lot of people.
getting killed because of your skin tone when going to shop at the grocery store is barbaric. i’m not trying to throw a zinger here, but we have to strongly address both sides of the situation.
lol no kids…
that’s the thing… by me saying talk to kids… im saying address it all… i’m looking to educate them, not shelter them…
if/when i have one, i’m telling them this world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows… here’s how to make the smart and wise decisions…~then i’d hand them their baby bottle~
i’m wouldn’t be looking to curb curiosity tho… that’s not natural at all… instead i’d be looking to address it head on…
i’m telling my kids, yes this happens, this is a thing… share my viewpoints on the dangers of abusing it… and reprimand them for treating it as such.
they’re still going to do it… but at least them knowing that i’m well aware of it as a parent would lessen risk of them turning it into some sort of secret addiction of theirs.
wildly understated too…
like… middle school kids today navigated mobile devices with ease when they were toddlers…
they’re gonna know what a vpn is before they leave high school.
we’re just better off addressing the issue head on than trying to band-aid it… it won’t work
or you know… talk to your kids
😆 😆 😆 i apparently missed out on a lot!
the $7 per gallon gas prices and my previous boss forcing me to drive 50 miles to work with a car that was going to give out any moment soon…
piece of shit humans
oh wow i don’t remember that part. i wouldn’t be surprised tho.
good ol’ justin tv lol… i was one of the first few streamers on it… i know that sounds hipster and all, but i miss those days… i got in trouble for streaming family guy and games that didn’t get released yet 😂
they’re so shockingly inept, i can’t believe it anymore
exactly this…
i started out in firefox back in early 2000s… then made the switch to chrome and never looked back…
im not the biggest google-groupie but for me to make the switch, google really had to f up in my eyes… and they did
i will try graphene…
i’ve had issues where my screen goes dark during calls and i can’t wake it up, when calls come thru, i don’t see the caller id until like 3rd or 4th ring, people can’t hear me when on speaker, it chooses what volume different apps chime in at ( this has gotten me in serious trouble with alarms)
I like Keepass - Password manager housed in an encrypted database. (dont’ lose your master password)
i’m using it from now on
beautifully said… the way i feel about things also is… boomers and the immediate subsequent generations are fucking up the country and thriving… millenials are the ones holding it together with ducttape because that’s all we’ve got for now…
and no, im not speaking for everyone in each group i just mentioned
not samsung… 😢
i’m at a standstill on deciding which phone to purchase next. i currently have the pixel 6 and i’m actually disappointed with it. the phone is too buggy and im tired of google’s bs.
cool man, thank you and @NoMoreCocaine@lemmy.world for the helpful repsonses… i’ll check out the dual boot option… also i wouldn’t even mind using a remote access tool to access a standalone windows based pc if i really needed to… im getting tired of their ship
they dont’ surprise me anymore
