Yes, that’s why I’m proposing it as opposed to just one pixel to differentiate between ad and video. Youtube videos are already separated in sections, just add some metadata with a hash to every one.

Hey, I like sailing the high seas as much as the next one but shouldn’t those links be relegated to the megathread?
That is prone to error, just a pixel can be too small of a sample. I would prefer something with hashes, just a sha1sum every 5 seconds of the current frame. It can be computed while buffering videos and wait until the ad is over to splice the correct region
Two years after windows closes support for windows 10 we will get a massive spike in linux users or a massive spike in landfill users. A man can dream
The choice of policy ideas is weird but the strategy of snap elections can reinforce the party’s power until the next election if it goes well. It’s like squeezing your electorate for more power until the balance shifts in the other direction
Will the battery be removable for the next model? Is the model locally run?
Nowadays a console is just a locked down, less expensive pc. I think buying the components of a ps5 and assembling the pc is more expensive than just buying a console and liberating it, which is what I would do if I was to ever buy one.
Cool, no Xiaomi for me then, I can’t even bother with that much bureaucracy when I can just buy another phone that’s easier to unlock
I will hve to look out for that when buying the next phone, thank you
I am still using a Xiaomi 7 with a custom rom, I used the tool in their webpage to unlock it. Are current gen Xiaomi phones making it impossible to unlock the bootloader?
So google is lying about rooted devices, they seem as secure as an OEM letting an user sideload apps or google themselves letting malware apps inside their store
Does rooting your device make you the root user or just gives you access to superuser utilities?
In linux systems the root user shouldn’t be used for daily use, you just make an user account with permission to use sudo, doas or su.
It will make it possible to do the TTC glitch consistently saving half an A press
It is still worth a try
You can install custom roms into Xiaomi phones, I recommend LinageOS or /e/OS if you want a degoogled experience. If its not for you, the latter isn’t really user friendly as some google apps like maps wont really work.
The way to combat AI in my opinion is open sourcing every model and training data so that experts can devise methods to check if some text is similar enough to the ones generated by public models
Then you forget about local models that can’t generate text as polished as hosted ones but will not have the watermark
We’ll wait until 7.7.7 so all of the religious folk switch to linux
Check out /e/os, the only problem I found is it is more difficult to interact with some google services and others are not supported but you can always use a browser to access them
Yes, that could be an alternative to computing hashes, I don’t know what option would be less resource intensive
