Technically not found this week, but I recently picked up a cool looking courdoroy dress from a charity shop for £3.75 without having time to try it on and make sure it fit. Wore it for the first time yesterday, happy to report it’s awesome!
Proud multicrafter, making cool stuff and all over the Fediverse like a rash. Find my various stuff at https://linksta.cc/@thegiddystitcher

For anyone who enjoys seeing how the sausage is made, OP also has some devlogs up on YouTube, I’ve been following for a little while. https://youtube.com/@PaahtimoGames
Congrats on the release!
Member of my extended family had it. His mother, immediately after he was born, was advised to go for whatever the legal process is for abandoning a child to care instead. She did not take this option, and the doctors told her she was making a big mistake. That would’ve been in the early 60s.
He only lived into his forties but he was a wonderful person, creative and warm and loving, with pretty much his only failure being an overwhelming obsession with the music of Robbie Williams. Came to live with us after his mam was gone and essentially became my big brother.
At his funeral, people literally lined the streets all along the route because there were way too many to fit into the actual venue.
This story doesn’t have much to do with anything but I just like remembering him, so there you go.
Given how many people I’ve forced at nag-point to read Children of Time over the years, this is quite a relief. Good guy Tchaikovsky!
Definitely a lot of horror elements in the few I’ve read (Children of Time + sequels, Cage of Souls). I’ve only just scratched the surface, the man is a writing machine, but it does seem to be a trend so far.
He blends genres a lot and even his own work is kind of eclectic and all over the place, but his worldbuilding and the ability to take a totally alien concept and make it utterly believable are just top notch.
Oh come on, The Core is a classic!
Had no idea this existed, thank you
Too soon!
Respect.
This might not be OP’s intended definition of “holiday” but good tips nontheless!
Do NOT look up any further information first. Just play. Enjoy!
The gametime stats in Xfire were my first clue that I maybe needed to get off the PC once in a while and, as the kids say these days, touch grass.
Was still kinda proud of myself though. Albeit a sort of shameful pride.
Absolutely expected this to be a weird makeup thread from the title. Don’t Lemmy while tired, kids.
Fwiw I am also not a fan of the movie, but was surprised to find I really enjoyed the book. Might be worth a try.
Hullo from lemm.ee 👋
That’s fair, I don’t play a whole lot of them so some probably work better than others. But I’m also shite at them and need all the help I can get, which usually means a mouse 😄
Yeah I do most of my gaming on a laptop but the Deck is much more convenient if I’m playing something fairly simple. Sounds like it’s exactly what you need, you can just rest it on top of whichever dog is currently lying across your lap!
It’s great for playing slower paced games, not so great for shooters etc, anything that really relies on the fast accuracy of a mouse (at least in handheld which is all I use mine for). A good way to start working through the backlog of cozy indie freebies we’ve all been pointlessly gathering from Epic.
Big downside for me is the size and weight, I’m a woman with stereotypically slender hands and this thing was definitely designed for someone with a slightly longer reach.
You’ve had some well-meaning but ultimately not quite accurate answers in this thread so just to clarify:
You can follow, post to and interact with Lemmy communities from Mastodon, because they’re treated the same way as a “group” on Mastodon in general.
You can NOT follow and interact with Mastodon users from Lemmy, because Mastodon accounts are individual “users” and Lemmy doesn’t have the concept of following and interacting with users, only with communities. If Lemmy ever does add a feature to let us follow other users, then in theory following Mastodon users will also become possible.
