Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, on a visit to Taiwan Saturday said an isolationist policy isn’t “healthy” and called on the Republican Party to stand with her country’s allies, while still putting in good words for the party’s nominee, Donald Trump.

Haley, who ran against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, told reporters in the capital, Taipei, that supporting U.S. allies, including Ukraine and Israel, is vital, and she underscored the importance of Taiwan — which Beijing claims as its territory, to be brought under control by force if necessary.

“I don’t think the isolationist approach is healthy. I think America can never sit in a bubble and think that we won’t be affected,” she said.

Why is she “visiting Taiwan” as if she’s some important diplomat? She is not currently… anything?

        1. I don’t think she thought she was negotiating anything.

        2. If John Sparkman, George McGovern, and John Kerry didn’t get indicted for violating it, I think it’s just unenforceable law for anyone.

At one point, I actually respected Haley for running against Trump and calling out his constant crap. But she has zero spine. She’s turned out to be just another maga supporter defending him at every turn.

whatever else you think a politician is supposed to care about.

Technically, that’s the republic. Currently it’s the unheard and unseen masses of staffers and wonks and bureaucrats who hold this mess together. The fancy poster boy people are just there to rally the common folk around a single figure.

She’s fishing for a spot in his administration, even though his chances of winning are going down. She could have taken a stand and joined the never trumpers, but that would require patience she lacks because as long as he’s alive trump owns the Republican party lock, stock and barrel. It will be interesting to see what happens to it when trump finally croaks.

The cognitive dissonance is real. How this silly twit can say “isolationism is bad” and “Trump good” in the same breath is truly astounding.

Trump worked toward isolationism like nobody in the last century and if he gets in again, Project 2025 puppetmasters will take that up by an order of magnitude as they create a new Sharia law environment and distance the rest of the world even further.

Trump isn’t isolationist, he just endorses a different distribution of geopolitical allies than Biden and the Democrats.

Nice random islamophobia. You see people in the US who hate Muslims and Islam doing authoritarianism in an America way and immediately jump to “this is just like Islam!”?

Do you even know what Sharia Law is?

Unfortunately, anti-islam sentiment is increasingly one of those bipartisan issues…

          Really?

It was a dig at the same people calling for “Christian law” that would vehemently decry “Islamic law”

? Because it reads to me more like it’s YOU directly decrying Sharia Law and trying to associate them with it.

Project 2025 puppetmasters will take that up by an order of magnitude as they create a new Sharia law environment and distance the rest of the world even further.

You literally state that they want to create a “new Sharia Law environment” as a negative with no qualifications or explanation.

They aren’t trying to create Sharia Law, they are Americans trying to create American authoritarian nationalism.

You don’t get to use islamophobia to “dig at” people who are islamophobic as well. You’re just spreading and circle jerking islamophobia as a “gotcha” which only hurts innocent Muslims who have to face the repercussions.

Edit: But of course, downvote and insult for opposing random islamophbia. You’re totally not in the same boat as Republicans who act like being called racist/sexist is a bigger problem than racism/sexism itself and lash out.

I’m just really not looking forward to when the pogroms pop up here like in Britain recently thanks to the constant pushing of this sentiment.

After all, you’re always right about what you think other people think, right?

I’m sure you’re totally right and I meant that as islamophobia and not a shot at Christians.

And I’m saying, what is the shot at Christians, if not “you’re being like Muslims”?

After all, you’re always right about what you think other people think, right?

And here’s the right wing crying about “thought crimes!” aspect. Your secret personal intentions dont matter, you said what you said. Just like when a racist Republican tries to excuse saying the N word because they “had no ill intentions”.

I despise the misogyny of both religions equally.

So is this an admission that you were using Sharia Law as a negative to compare project 2025 to and that you view Sharia Law as inherently misogynistic? If not then what’s the point of bringing this up?

Oh, shut up, Nimarata “Nikki” Randhawa Haley. You don’t give two shits about America being isolationist or not. You only want Taiwan to stay independent because of its tech. If it was just any other island nation in the Pacific, you’d let China take it and not bat an eye.

You back a party that would turn on you and JD Vance’s wife, given a chance. They don’t care about you. They like white, seemingly Christian men. They would sooner suck Trump’s dick then shake the hand of Indian woman like yourself.

Haley trying the Lindsey Graham approach to making her convictions as solid as water and just saying whatever is expedient for the moment.

… And oh look at that, both from SC.

Both Susan Rice and Samantha Power make her foreign policy experience look like a joke.
